Ultimate Scotland Golfing Tour: Itinerary Inspiration

Day 1 - Journey to Scotland

Welcome to Scotland! Arrive into Edinburgh (or Glasgow) airport and meet your dedicated driver-guide for the week. They will take you touring through the heart of Scotland north to your first hotel in Inverness; Ness Walk Hotel, a luxury riverside retreat.

Check into your elegant room and unwind after your journey.

Enjoy a fine dining experience at the hotel's restaurant overlooking the River Ness.

Day 2 - Royal Dornoch Golf Club

After breakfast, travel north 1 hour to Royal Dornoch Golf Club, consistently ranked among the world's top courses.

Enjoy a memorable round of golf on this historic and picturesque links course. Expenses covering the cost of a young aristocrat's golf clubs in 1616 have provided the earliest evidence so far of the sport's presence in Dornoch.

Return to Ness Walk Hotel for a relaxing evening.

Day 3 - Cabot Highlands Golf Club

First, board a train in London for Cardiff. Upon arrival, meet your private driver guide. Suggestions for today include Cardiff Castle, M

Just 25 minutes east of your hotel is the exceptional Cabot Highlands Golf Club (formerly Castle Stuart). 

From infinity edge greens to rumpled fairways, natural bunkers, and spectacular open views, golf at Cabot Highlands is best described as a throwback to golf as it once was. Already home to Castle Stuart Golf Links, the property will soon welcome an additional championship layout by acclaimed architect Tom Doak.

After golf, tour south 3 hours to your new hotel overlooking the 18th green on the course that has hosted The Open Championship 8 times. 

Day 4 - Carnoustie Golf Links

Enjoy the short commute of 50 yards to the 1st tee this morning! 

Play a round of golf at Carnoustie Golf Links, known as one of the toughest courses in the world. How will you handle Hogan’s Alley and the closing stretch of difficult holes. 

After golf, tour 1 hour south to your new hotel in the town of St. Andrews!

Day 5 - New Course at St. Andrews

Tee off at the New Course, the oldest “new” course in the world!

The first tee is a short walk from your hotel and beside the Links Clubhouse. Enjoy the traditional links layout and stunning coastal views.

Return to Rusacks Hotel for a delightful evening and a dinner in the roof-top restaurant overlooking the 18th fairway on the Old Course. 

Day 6 - Old Course at St. Andrews

Today is the day! You’ll play the legendary Old Course, often referred to as the "Home of Golf."

Experience the history and prestige of this iconic course, following in the footsteps of golfing legends. Will you par the Road Hole? Who will take your picture on the Swilcan Bridge.

Return to Rusacks Hotel or perhaps The Jigger Inn or The Dunvegan to celebrate your unforgettable round.

Day 7 - Royal Troon Golf Club

Check out of Rusacks Hotel in St. Andrews and travel southeast to Ayrshire.

You’ll play the 2024 Open Venue Royal Troon Golf Club today. 

How will you play the Postage Stamp Par-3? Will it be calm and require a flick or will there be wind where a mid-iron punch is required?

Check into the Marine Hotel, a charming hotel overlooking the 18th fairway of Royal Troon.

Relax and enjoy the hotel's tranquil surroundings.

Day 8 - Ailsa Golf Course

Just 45 mins south along the coast is the amazing Trump Turnberry resort and the Ailsa course, one of Scotland's most scenic and iconic courses.​​

After golf, you’ll tour east to Edinburgh and your final hotel, the epitome of Scottish hospitality, The Balmoral, located right in the heart of this historic Capital city. 

Day 9 - Muirfield Golf Club

The Honourable Company of Edinburgh Golfers…otherwise known as Muirfield Golf Club, is your final round of this epic trip.

The course at Muirfield was created by Old Tom Morris in 1891 and then re-designed in 1925 by Harry Colt. Located in Gullane, East Lothian, Scotland, overlooking the Firth of Forth, Muirfield is one of the golf courses used in rotation for The Open Championship. Muirfield has hosted The Open Championship sixteen times, most recently in 2013 when Phil Mickelson lifted the trophy.

Spend your final evening in Scotland exploring Edinburgh's vibrant streets, enjoying a farewell dinner at a renowned restaurant and/or visiting the Scotch Whisky Experience and discovering one last libation to purchase for the trip home! 

Day 10 - Travel Home

All good things must come to an end!Check out and take a private scheduled transfer to Edinburgh airport ahead of your return flight/s home.
